LAST TIME ON THE COURT
Ole Miss (2-3) dropped a pair of matches at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Los Angeles last weekend. The Rebels fell to San Diego 4-0 on Friday and Indiana 4-2 in the Saturday consolation. Fabian Fallert/Cotter Wilson and Jan Soren Hain/Simon Junk secured the doubles point on Saturday, but the Hoosiers stormed back with four singles wins. Fallert earned a Rebel point, while Filip Kraljevic's match was halted in a third-set tiebreak against the 96th-ranked player, Bennett Crane.
SCOUTING THE COWBOYS
No. 20 Oklahoma State (4-1) enters the match after splitting a pair of matches last week at an ITA Kick-Off Weekend event of their own in Fort Worth, Texas. No. 22 TCU handed the Pokes their first defeat of the season in the championship match after downing Nebraska-Omaha (7-0), Creighton (7-0), Arkansas (6-1), and Arizona State (4-3). Ole Miss owns a 5-1 edge and three-match winning streak in all-time meetings. The Rebels last faced Oklahoma State in 2008 with the Rebels prevailing 4-0. The Cowboys were ousted in the opening round of the 2018 NCAA tournament to Harvard, 4-2, but have made the postseason five straight times. If Emile Hudd and Maixm Tybar pair up, they will bring a No. 31 ITA national ranking to the match.
THE LAST MEETING
Oklahoma State has only one win against Ole Miss in the all-time series between the two schools, as the Rebels boast a 5-1 all-time record over the Cowboys. The last time the Pokes and Rebels faced each other was a 4-0 Ole Miss sweep in 2008.
UP NEXT
Ole Miss returns to the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center, located along Manning Way, Saturday, Feb. 9 in a doubleheader against in-state foe Alcorn State. The first match is slated to begin at noon with the second set for 2 p.m. CT.
