Senior Shoots Season-Best 2-under 70
JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – The No. 34 Ole Miss men's golf team completed the first round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate on Friday at Blackthorn Club at the Ridges. In his return to the lineup, Chip Getz paced the Rebels with a bogey-free round of 70 (-2).
The Rebels sit in a tie for eighth after the first 18 holes following a 3-under 285. Four out of the five Ole Miss starters shot par-or-better on Friday. No. 23 Tennessee leads the tournament following an opening round team score of 273 (-15).
"We got off to a solid start but just threw too many shots away down the stretch," head coach Chris Malloy said. "Very similar to last week, we did all of the hard things well but didn't do a very good job on the easy things. I look for this group to respond tomorrow and move up the leaderboard for the final round."

Jackson Suber fired a 1-under 71, his seventh round of par-or-better this fall. The sophomore is tied for 27th overall and leads the team in birdies with four, two coming on his first two holes of the day.
