Rebels Will Host 2020 Power-5 Trailblazer Challenge on March 27-28
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss men's and women's track & field has unveiled a competitive 2020 indoor and outdoor schedule, fifth-year head coach Connie Price-Smith announced on Tuesday. Included are two home meets during the outdoor season: the return of the Joe Walker Invitational on April 10-11, and the addition of the Power-5 Trailblazer Challenge two weeks earlier on March 27-28, which comes to Oxford in the third year of its existence.
"We are excited about this schedule, and we can't wait for the season to arrive," Price-Smith said. "We have added a few new destinations to the schedule this year to provide different experiences for our team. Our schedule is highly competitive, and it will provide a great opportunity for this team to continue to grow in all of our event groups."

Ole Miss opens the indoor season after winter break at UAB's Blazer Invite on Jan. 10 in Birmingham, Alabama. The Rebels follow that up with a trip to Nashville on Jan. 17-18 for the Vanderbilt Invite before returning north the following two weeks to Lexington for Kentucky's Rod McCravy Invitational on Jan. 24-25 and to Bloomington for the Indiana Relays on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
The Rebels close the indoor regular season with a trip out west to Lubbock for the Texas Tech Shootout on Feb. 14-15, while the Ole Miss distance medley relay squads will run at the JDL Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Feb. 21-22.
The 2020 SEC Indoor Championships return to Texas A&M's Gilliam Indoor Stadium on Feb. 28-29, while the NCAA Indoor Championships return to New Mexico's Albuquerque Convention Center for the first time since 2014 on March 13-14.

Ole Miss opens the 2020 outdoor season at home to compete in the 2020 Power-5 Trailblazer Challenge. The meet, which is in its third season of existence, features five Power-5 schools to feature women in charge of combined men's and women's programs: Miami (Amy Deem), Ohio State (Karen Dennis), Tennessee (Beth Alford-Sulivan), USC (Caryl Smith Gilbert) and Ole Miss' own Connie Price-Smith.
"We are extremely excited to host the Trailblazer Challenge," Price-Smith said. "The meet has been a unique experience at USC and Miami the last two years, and we're hoping to put our own spin on it here in Oxford and make this a fun experience for our student-athletes and the fans. This meet will have a high quality of competition, and we can't wait to see what is in store this season."
The Rebels will roll from one competitive meet into another, as the following week Ole Miss will travel to Gainesville for the Florida Relays on April 2-4, which serves as one of the marquee weekends of the outdoor track season each year.
Ole Miss returns home the following week to honor its senior class at the Joe Walker Invitational on April 10-11. The following week the Rebel distance runners will travel out west to California to take part in one of the most competitive distance weekends of the year at Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invitational on April 16-18.
The outdoor regular season will close with two SEC trips to Arkansas on April 24-25 for the National Relay Championships and to Baton Rouge for the LSU Relays on May 2.
A return trip to College Station is in order for Ole Miss two weeks later, as Texas A&M will also host the 2020 SEC Outdoor Championships on May 14-16. From there, athletes that qualify will compete in the NCAA East Regional in Lexington, Kentucky on May 28-30 for a chance to punch tickets to the national meet.
The NCAA Outdoor Championships will be run from June 10-13 and return to the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin for the second consecutive season.
Outside the collegiate season, the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships will be held July 12-14 in a location to be determined at a later date. One week later, the culmination of the season occurs at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon, where athletes will compete for spots on Team USA for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. The 2020 Olympic Trials will also serve as the first meet in the newly-renovated Hayward Field.
TV and online streaming info for meets will be available at a later date.
