11 Rebels Earn All-America Scholar Athlete Status

OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss softball team was recently recognized for its academic progress by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as the Rebels were named a recipient of the 2018-19 Easton/NFCA Academic Team Award, while 11 Rebel players receiving All-America Scholar Athlete laurels.
 
Ole Miss' 3.41 team GPA was good for a tie for the 67th highest in the nation, ranking third in the SEC behind only Kentucky and South Carolina. It was also a full five points higher than last season's team GPA of 3.36.
 
Meanwhile, Mikayla Allee, Kylan Becker, Anna Borgen, Katelin Cooper, Autumn Gillespie, Kacey Hvitved, Molly Jacobsen, Ally Mena, Amanda Roth, Ava Tillmann and Izzy Werdann were all recognized as All-America Scholar Athletes.
 
To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative G.PA of 3.50 or greater during the academic year. In total, a record 8,161 student-athletes nationwide earned All-America Scholar Athlete status, including 1,769 from NCAA Division I alone.
