NFL Rebels Update: Week 5

D.K. Metcalf, Brandon Bolden Catch Touchdowns

OXFORD, Miss. – Here at OleMissSports.com, we are proud to update Rebel fans on the status of our former players in the NFL. Ole Miss has a big presence in the league again this year and there are currently 25 Rebels on NFL rosters, including two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning and 2019 second round draft picks Greg Little, A.J. Brown, and D.K. Metcalf.
 
This week, D.K. Metcalf and Brandon Bolden caught touchdowns for the Seahawks and Patriots while Mike Hilton and Marquis Haynes grabbed turnovers on defense.
 
Overall, 14 Rebels played in the fifth week of the 2019 season. Here's a rundown of how each NFL Rebel performed:
 
#38 Brandon Bolden | RB | New England Patriots
Rushed five times for 13 yards and caught one pass for a 29-yard touchdown in the 33-7 victory over the Redskins. He has now scored touchdowns in back-to-back weeks.
 
#11 A.J. Brown | WR | Tennessee Titans
Caught two passes for 27 yards in the 14-7 loss to the Bills. So far this season, the rookie has caught 12 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

#16 Cody Core | WR | New York Giants
Did not play.

#88 Evan Engram | TE | New York Giants
Caught six passes for 42 yards in the 28-10 loss to the Vikings. Engram has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL this season, having hauled in 33 receptions for 373 yards and two touchdowns through five games.

#98 Marquis Haynes | DE | Carolina Panthers
Recovered a crucial fumble and made one tackle in the 34-27 victory over the Jaguars. This was the first fumble recovery of his NFL career.

#28 Mike Hilton | CB | Pittsburgh Steelers
Made four tackles and grabbed one interception in the 26-23 overtime loss to the Ravens. This was the fourth interception of his career and his first of the season.
 
#95 Lavon Hooks | DE | Pittsburgh Steelers
On injured reserve.
 
#64 John Jerry | G | Cincinnati Bengals
Played 36 snaps on offense and five on special teams in the 26-23 loss to the Cardinals.
 
#93 D.J. Jones | DT | San Francisco 49ers
Played 17 snaps on defense and 10 on special teams in the 31-3 victory over the Browns.
 
#6 Chad Kelly | QB | Indianapolis Colts
Did not play. On practice squad.
 
#88 Dawson Knox | TE | Buffalo Bills
Caught two passes for 12 yards in the 14-7 victory over the Titans. The rookie has made an impact so far, catching 10 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown through his first five games.
 
#74 Greg Little | OT | Carolina Panthers
Did not play.

#10 Eli Manning | QB | New York Giants
Did not play.

#70 Bobby Massie | OT | Chicago Bears
Started at tackle and played all 58 offensive snaps for the Bears in the 24-21 loss to the Raiders in London.
 
#14 D.K. Metcalf | WR | Seattle Seahawks
Caught two passes for 44 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown in the 30-29 victory over the Rams on Thursday night. Metcalf has been one of the most electric rookies this season, tallying 12 receptions for 267 yards and two touchdowns through five weeks.

Rushed seven times for 28 yards to help the Colts upset the Chiefs 19-13 Sunday night. The 2018 draft pick has ran the ball 19 times for 125 yards through five games this season.
