OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss is honoring its military veteran students, faculty and alumni during Warrior Week (Nov. 11- Nov. 15) with a series of events designed to recognize members of the armed services in the Ole Miss family.

The university's mission to honor and support its student veterans does not go unnoticed by its military faculty and staff.

Throughout the week, a variety of events and activities will honor veterans and their service, kicking off on Nov. 9 with the Military Appreciation Game against New Mexico State.

Ole Miss Wish
On Friday and Saturday (Nov. 8-9), 4-year-old Rowan Neff, who was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the age of 1, will be presented her Ole Miss Wish. Her weekend will include a variety of activities catered to her interests.

Neff will be the this weekend's Cheer Captain, and will make a proclamation from the president's desk in the Lyceum.

She will be joined by her parents, Chris and Naomi Neff, and her siblings, all of Tupelo. Together, the family will experience the sights and sounds of an Ole Miss game day, while also participating in the Walk of Champions through the Grove, among other events.

Chris serves in the Mississippi National guard with three deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, and is an alumnus of the University.

Ole Miss Wish is a philanthropic effort by the Student Veterans Association that works with military families to provide children with meaningful experiences at the university in partnership with the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.
