Director of Operations Damaris Linker will speak later this month
OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Volleyball's Damaris Linker, current Director of Operations, has been announced as a speaker for the upcoming American Volleyball Coaches Association National Convention, held in Pittsburgh, Pa., from December 18-22. The annual event is the largest gathering of volleyball coaches in the world for education, networking, and social events.
Linker will be presenting in a session titled "Lessons Learned: Advice for Being a Good DOVO" as just one of 100 presenters from across the globe. Industry leaders and coaches from every level of the sport for both genders and both elements (indoor/beach) will converge on the David L. Lawrence Convention Center to instruct and learn from their peers. USA Women's and Men's National Team Head Coaches, Karch Kiraly and John Speraw, will headline sessions.
Linker just wrapped her third season as the coordinator of operations for the program, handling all responsibilities for all program logistics, including tournaments, travel, budget, equipment, meals, and more. She also oversees all camps/clinics and serves as the team's liaison in multiple departments such as administration, academics, compliance, marketing, and facilities.
Prior to joining Ole Miss, Linker served as the Director of Volleyball Operations at Ohio University in Athens for two seasons, and spent a season as an assistant coach at Rockford University before that. She played collegiately at Quincy University.
Pittsburgh also serves as the site for the NCAA Championship at the PPG Paints Arena in late December.
