Ole Miss Rifle Announces Newest Signing

Kristen Derting will join the Rebels next fall from Salem, Oregon
OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss Rifle team announced its newest addition to the Rebel family, welcoming signee Kristen Derting for the 2019-2020 season.
Derting, a Salem, Oregon product, has already competed against some of the best and owns an impressive resume. She amassed personal bests of 582 in smallbore and 593 in air rifle.
Derting is in her last semester at South Salem High School and is a member of the Tri-County Gun Club's junior program.
Last December, Derting fired an 1143 and personal-best 1150 for 40 shots for each smallbore position (3x40) at 50 meters during the Winter Selection Match. The NCAA competes with 20 shots in each position at 50 feet.
Additionally, she competed at both the USA Shooting and National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships in 2018. Derting also recorded high marks (573 smallbore, 581 air rifle) at the Oregon State USA Shooting Junior Olympic Air Rifle and Smallbore Championships.
Derting joins Claire O'Neel as Ole Miss Rifle signees for the Class of 2023.
