Aggies Defeat Ole Miss 7-0 Sunday
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Ole Miss Men's Tennis team couldn't overcome a bevy of ranked Aggie players, losing 7-0 against No. 8 Texas A&M Sunday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.
The No. 47-ITA ranked doubles pair of Tim Sandkaulen and Filip Kraljevic were the lone victors in the Lone Star State for Ole Miss (16-11, 5-7 SEC), prevailing 6-4 on Court 2.
After Texas A&M (20-6, 10-2 SEC) secured a win on Court 3, the No. 10 duo of Carlos Aguilar and Barnaby Smith edged No. 31 Fabian Fallert and Finn Reynolds 6-4 for the opening point.
The Aggies, who also boasted four-ranked singles players, secured the match with wins on Courts 1, 5, and 2.
The match was played out with Texas A&M grabbing an additional three victories. Fallert (6) and Reynolds (9) dropped heartbreaking third-set tiebreakers after the Aggies clinched.
UP NEXT
Ole Miss heads to Gainesville, Fla. for the SEC Championships. Despite the defeat, the Rebels earned an automatic berth to the Second Round as the 8 seed and will look to defeat No. 20 Alabama for the third time this season, Thursday at 2 p.m. CT.
