Senior Golfer Earns Honor for Second Time in his Career

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ole Miss senior golfer Beau Briggs was named Google Cloud Academic All-District, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for his performance on the course and in the classroom.

Briggs, who graduated with a degree in economics, earned CoSIDA Academic All-District acacolades for the second time in his career. The Covington, Louisiana, native was named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll at Ole Miss six times, all while retaining a 3.89 GPA. He was also a member of the 2019 SEC Community Service Team, announced last week.

On the course, Briggs led the Rebels in stroke average (71.74) and top-10 finishes (4) this season. He shot a career-low 205 (-11) at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational, placing fourth, while tying for third at the Intercollegiate at The Grove, his career-best finish. As a senior, Briggs helped take Ole Miss back to an NCAA Regional for the third consecutive year.

The academic honor adds to the list for Briggs, who was named a Cleveland/Srixon All-America Scholar as well as CoSIDA Academic All-District last season.

The Rebel golfer was a scholar-athlete before arriving at Ole Miss. In high school, Briggs was one of 12 players in the nation named an HP Scholastic Junior All-American by the American Junior Golf Association.
