Rebel Volleyball Begins European Tour Thursday

Ole Miss will travel to four different countries over 11 days for five international exhibitions
OXFORD, Miss. โย ย Ole Miss Volleyball will get a head start on prepping for its fall 2019 campaign, as the Rebels will travel to four European countries for six matches over an 11-day excursion.ย

The squad will face elite international competition, including the Slovenian Junior National Team and the Italian National "B" Team. The Rebels will have multi-day stays in Prague, Czech Republic,ย ย Milan, Italy, and Maribor, Slovenia, and will also explore Vienna, Austria, and Verona and Venice, Italy.ย

"We are all very appreciative to the Ole Miss administration on providing this opportunity for our program," head coach Steven McRoberts said of the opportunity.ย ย
ย
"It will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our team. We are excited about touring multiple parts of Europe and also getting a lot of matches in as well. We see this as a tremendous time to improve our team as we move forward to the 2019 season."

Included in the trip itinerary is touring the Prague Castle, viewing and exploring the Pohorje Mountain in Slovenia to accompany an abundance of sightseeing and city tours. The trip will also offer the Rebels valuable and irreplaceable learning experiences about European culture.

Ole Miss departs for Europe May 23 and returns to Oxford on June 3. Fans can follow the trip via a special 'Round the World with the Rebs' travel blog found on olemisssports.com, as well as following all three of the Ole Miss Volleyball social media accounts.ย
