Brooks Was an NCAA East Qualifier Outdoors, Raspo an All-American Indoors
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss track & field juniors Kieshonna Brooks and Andrew Raspo have been named to the 2019 SEC Track Community Service Team, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Both spent time participating in Adopt a Basket, Reading With the Rebels and A Night to Shine, while also spending time with the Boys and Girls Club.
Brooks was an NCAA East Region qualifier in both the women's long jump and 100-meter hurdles, coming heartbreakingly short of qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in both events. The native of Saint Kitts and Nevis scored in fifth place in the heptathlon at the SEC Outdoor Championships, and qualified for the regional meet with career bests in the long jump (6.18m/20-03.50) and 100-meter hurdles (13.43).
Raspo – a native of Modesto, California – was a First-Team All-American indoors as a member of the Ole Miss distance medley relay team that finished eighth at the NCAA Indoor Championships. He was also on the men's 4x100-meter relay team that scored in eighth place at the SEC Outdoor Championships.
