Briggs One of 126 Awarded Nationally

INDIANAPOLIS – Ole Miss men's golf student-athlete Beau Briggs has been named one of 126 annual winners of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically and who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition. The one-time, non-renewable scholarships of $10,000 are awarded three times a year corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter and spring). Each sports season there are 21 scholarships available for men and 21 scholarships available for women for use in an accredited graduate program. All former student-athletes who earned an undergraduate degree from an NCAA member school are eligible to be nominated by that school for an NCAA graduate degree scholarship, regardless of when they received their undergraduate degree.

Briggs – a Covington, Louisiana, native who was also the Ole Miss men's nominee for the SEC Boyd H. McWhorter Scholarship earlier this spring – is a three-time member of the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, in addition to his selections to the Cleveland/Srixon All-America Scholar team last season and Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District teams each of the previous two years.

Briggs has been named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll at Ole Miss six times, all while retaining a 3.90 GPA. He has also been a member of both the 2018 and 2019 SEC Community Service teams.

A four-year letterwinner, Briggs played in 27 tournaments as a Rebel. He led Ole Miss in stroke average (71.74), top-five finishes (three) and top-10 finishes (four) during his senior campaign in 2019. He tied for fifth at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship with the help of a personal-best 66 in round two, helping the Rebels to a runner-up showing as a team.
