Pair of Rebels Place Top 10 in Golden Isles Invitational

Vongchaisit, Hogan Shine in Summer Tournament
BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Thomas Hogan and Sarut Vongchaisit of the Ole Miss men's golf team put together strong outings at the 2019 Golden Isles Invitational over the holiday weekend (July 4-6). Both products of Frederica Academy, the Rebel golf duo finished in the top 10 with Hogan placing fifth and Vongchaisit ending up in eighth.
The 69th playing of the tournament was hosted by Brunswick Country Club in Brunswick, Georgia, just miles from Sea Island Golf Club where the SEC Championship was held this past April.
Hogan, a past winner of the event, is no stranger to the course as his father, Dan, is the general manager at Brunswick Country Club. The redshirt freshman shot under-par all three rounds en route to a fifth-place finish at 13-under, going 68-68-67—203.
Vongchaisit matched Hogan with three under-par rounds of his own to earn him an eighth-place finish, firing three straight 69s to post a 9-under 207. The rising sophomore recorded 35 pars and 15 birdies over the three days of play.
