Machalova and Bortles Pair Up for No. 17 Ranking

Machalova also ranked in singles
TEMPE, Ariz. – Closing in on the beginning of their 2019 fall campaign, Ole Miss Women's Tennis boasts two individuals in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Preseason Rankings, as announced by the organization Tuesday.
Senior Alexa Bortles, a 2018 All-American in doubles with National Champion Arianne Hartono, pairs up with junior Sabina Machalova, the ITA's South Regional Player to Watch for the upcoming season. The two boast a No. 17 ranking after teaming up midway through conference play last spring, and finished the year with four wins, including two against ranked opponents.
Machalova was also honored individually, coming in at No. 58 in singles action. The first singles player for the Rebs, she carried five wins over ranked opponents last year and finished with 16 overall.
Machalova, Bortles, and the rest of the squad being the fall splitting up between the Marliss Gruver Invitational at Auburn and the UVA Fall Invite in Charlottesville.
