Two Rebel Teams Will Face Off in a Doubles Final on Sunday

AUBURN, Ala. – A trio of doubles pairs were victorious for the Ole Miss women's tennis team on Day Two of the Marliss Gruver Invitational at the Yarbrough Tennis Center on Saturday.

The No. 17 ITA ranked pairings of Alexa Bortles and Sabina Machalova as well as Anna Vrbenska and Tereza Janatova each picked up two wins and advanced to Sunday's finale. The freshmen duo of Isolde de Jong and Victoire de Samucewicz split their two matches on the day.

Bortles and Machalova started the 2019 fall campaign finding success against Sunflower State pairs. The Rebel upperclassmen beat Carmen Roxana Manu and Julia Deming of Kansas, 6-3, and Kansas State's Ines Mesquita and Karine-Marion Job 7-5.

Seniors Vrbenska and Janatova prevailed against Penn State's Gabby O'Gorman and Olivia Rohrbacher in a thrilling 7-6 (6) tiebreak.
