Ole Miss Men Recorded Dominant Win at Louisville Last Weekend

OXFORD, Miss.Ole Miss associate head coach for cross country Ryan Vanhoy met with members of the media on Monday to recap a dominant men's win and a strong women's runner-up finish at Louisville's Live in Lou Classic this past weekend.

Opening Statement
"Cross country is coming off a successful weekend of competition in Louisville. Our men's team won the race by a fairly comfortable margin, we scored 28 points. Our women's team lost a very close battle to Notre Dame, they were runner-up at the meet. Overall, on both sides I thought we had a really good team effort competitively. I think it was a nice step in the right direction from our first meet. We built off our first competition of the year and we're building a little bit of momentum as we head into the final month of the season.

This week, we added Clio Ozanne-Jaques back into the mix on our women's team, and on the men's side we added Cade Bethmann back into the rotation, so it was definitely good to get both of those athletes back and out on the course. They hadn't raced in over a year, so it was good to get them back out with the team in that competitive mindset.

Now we know what we've got to do to work on here in the next four weeks. We've got a meet in two weeks in Birmingham (UAB Blazer Classic, Oct. 16), we'll face a few SEC teams, some ACC teams, some other teams around the region. We'll use that as a final tune-up heading down to SECs on Oct. 30."
