Rebels Set New Season Ticket Mark for Second Straight Season
OXFORD, Miss. – For the second straight season, the Ole Miss baseball program set a new season ticket sales record for Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field.
Season ticket sales for the 2020 season stand at 7,307, eclipsing the previous record of 7,254 set in 2019. Last season's ticket sales were monumental as well, breaking the previous mark (6,275 in 2017) by nearly 1,000 tickets.
"I want to thank Rebel Nation for their tremendous support of Ole Miss Baseball," said head coach Mike Bianco. "Breaking another season ticket record shows why our fan base is so special, and that fan support has truly made Swayze Field the best atmosphere in college baseball."
Last year's sales led to Ole Miss finishing No. 2 nationally in average attendance for the fourth straight season. The Rebels attracted 8,988 fans per game for a grand total of 305,591—the second-most in program history behind 2018's total of 322,742. Ole Miss has finished among the top five in the country in average attendance for 11 straight seasons.
The Rebels are 591-241 (.710) all-time in 31-plus seasons at Swayze Field. Ole Miss has attracted more than 10,000 fans to O-U Stadium for more than 25 games in its history, including two draws of more than 12,000 with an all-time high of 12,152 on April 28, 2018, against LSU.
Ole Miss boasts five three-game series where more than 30,000 fans walked through the O-U Stadium gates, including a record 33,070 set on opening weekend in 2017 against East Carolina.
The 2020 season ticket sales have already brought momentum to the Ole Miss squad. The Rebels were second in the nation in opening-day attendance last weekend at 9,853. In total, 28,729 fans were on hand as the Rebels captured a series win over No. 1 Louisville, the third-largest opening weekend crowd in the country.
