Rebs Strong in the Middle of the Park with a Deep and Experienced Lineup

OXFORD, Miss. โ€“ With the 2020 season just two short days away, OleMissSports.com takes a look at the Rebel soccer team's midfielders ahead of Saturday's matchup against Texas A&M.
ย
At midfield, the Rebels boast an experienced lineup featuring six returners that all saw game action in at least 12 matches last season. The position group is anchored by the duo of Molly Martin and Haleigh Stackpole, who paired to start all 20 fixtures in 2019.
ย
Martin has seen her role grow in each of her three seasons with Ole Miss, starting 36 career matches and making 62 career appearances. She ranked fourth on the team a year ago in goals, finding the back of the net three times. The Memphis, Tennessee, product also tallied three assists, tied for second-most on the team. Back for her senior year, Martin looks to build upon last season's success in the holding midfielder role.
ย
Despite easily logging the most mileage on the pitch week-in-and-week-out, Stackpole serves as an energy rod for the Rebels, playing all but three minutes last season. After earning a spot on the Freshman All-SEC team in 2018, she ranked second on the team with five goals, including two game-winners, and paced the Rebs with four assists during her sophomore campaign.
ย
Also returning are four sophomores in Jenna Kemp, Saydie Holland, Fain Buete and Jillian Rhian, all of whom will look to provide depth and a spark for the Rebels.
ย
Kemp made seven starts a year ago, playing double-digit minutes in 18 total matches. As a freshman, she put two of her seven shots on goal and recorded an assist in her first collegiate match. Holland saw action in 19 contests as a rookie, making one start. The Sycamore, Illinois, native also dished out two assists, one of which came on the game-winning goal against Mississippi State in the SEC tournament. In 2019, Buete appeared in 12 matches for Ole Miss, while Rhian saw playing time in 14 fixtures on the season.
ย
In addition to the six returners, Ole Miss bolsters the midfield with sophomore Taylor Radecki, a transfer from Florida State. With the Seminoles, Radecki appeared in 3 matches and will look to provide another aerial threat to Ole Miss with her 5-10 frame. Prior to beginning her collegiate career, Radecki was also a four-time letterwinner at Bartram Trail High School in St. John's, Florida.
ย
The Rebels kick off the 2020 season on Saturday, taking on Texas A&M at 5 p.m. CT at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium. The season-opening matchup will be featured on national TV, airing on the SEC Network.
