Rebels Announce Winter Schedule Update
OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss rifle team has announced changes for the winter portion of its schedule, including adding two home matches at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center in January.
The Rebels will welcome NC State to town for a Great American Rifle Conference match on Sunday, Jan. 17, and then face off against one of the nation's top teams in Kentucky on Jan. 18. Ole Miss was originally scheduled to travel to West Point, New York, but canceled the trip in order to maintain the health and safety of all student-athletes. Ole Miss is working with Army to schedule a virtual match at a future date.
The following weekend, the Rebels will still compete in Morgantown, West Virginia; however, they will shoot against Akron and Navy on Jan. 30 and the Mountaineers the following day. The Navy match was originally scheduled for Feb. 13 in Oxford but has been moved to the neutral site to limit travel. To replace the match, Ole Miss will host Memphis to wrap up the regular season Feb. 13.
Times for all matches will officially be unveiled at a later date, but home contests are tentatively scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT. In order to maintain social distancing within the facility, there will be no fans at home events.
The fourth-ranked Rebels are coming off two victories over the weekend in Columbus, Ohio, taking down the Buckeyes and No. 8 Nebraska.
