Ole Miss Loses ITA Kickoff Opener to No. 13 Tennessee

Reynolds Wins Twice in Rebels’ 4-2 Defeat
RALEIGH, N.C. – Oracle/ITA No. 17 Ole Miss was defeated, 4-2, by No. 13 Tennessee in a neutral site match to open ITA Kickoff Weekend on Friday.
In doubles, the Rebels fought hard to claim the opening point of the match. Ole Miss won two of three doubles matches against Tennessee, both by tiebreakers despite trailing in all three matches.
No. 7 ranked Finn Reynolds and Tim Sandkaulen earned their first victory of the season by defeating Tennessee's Pat Harper and Adam Walton, 7-6 (5). The Rebels trailed 5-4 in the match and beat the Volunteers to decide which team won the doubles portion of the match.
Brady Draheim and Simon Junk edged out Tennessee's Giles Hussey and Mark Wallner, 7-6 (5). This match marked the first time that Draheim and Junk have partnered together for the Rebels.
In singles, Reynolds won for the second time of the afternoon by defeating Tennessee's Johannus Monday at the No. 2 singles position. After losing the first set 6-2, Reynolds bounced back to defeat Monday 6-4, 6-3 in the second and third sets.
Ole Miss' singles No. 1, 3, 4 and 5 lost to Tennessee in straight-set matches.
