Rebels Conclude Doubles Play at Roberta Alison Fall Classic

Singles Matches Postponed to Saturday due to Weather Conditions
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Four Ole Miss women's tennis players completed the doubles portion of competition at Alabama's Roberta Alison Fall Classic on Friday. Singles competition is set for Saturday starting at 9 a.m. CT.
Rachel Krzyzak, Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher, Lillian Gabrielsen and Elysia Pool were set to compete in both doubles and singles at the University of Alabama Tennis Stadium on Friday. The tournament format was adjusted to play all doubles matches on Friday due to rain and limited indoor court space.
Gabrielsen and Pool reached the finals of the Wiilmink/Van Dijk draw partnering together. The Rebel duo won two of three matches, with all doubles matches played utilizing single set standard collegiate scoring. After defeating teams from Virginia Tech and South Alabama in the first and second rounds, Gabrielsen and Pool fell to Alabama's Petra Sedlackova and Anna Parkhomenko, 6-1, on their home court.
Krzyzak and Leclercq-Ficher earned two doubles victories, winning in the second and third rounds of compeition. The Ole Miss tandem of freshman student-athletes fell to Northwestern's Sydney Prayy and Hannah McColgan in their first match. Despite the loss, Krzyzak and Leclercq-Ficher bounced-back to defeat Memphis' Camila Romero and Emily Meyer, 6-4, and Wisconsin's Taylor Cataldi and Xinyu Cai, 6-3.
All four Rebels will play two rounds of doubles on Saturday. Each Ole Miss student-athlete will be in a different compass draw named after a historical Alabama player.
