Women’s Golf Heads into Final Day in Fayetteville Tied for Seventh

Rebels Card a 10-Over, 298 During Second Round at the Blessings Collegiate
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Ole Miss women's golf team put together a 298 (+10) round of golf on day two of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational Tuesday. The Rebels are now tied with North Carolina for seventh with a two-day score of 607 (+31).
Chiara Tamburlini continued to lead the Rebels on the course, logging a total of three birdies on the day and finishing with a 75 (+3) to sit in a tie for 13th place. She now has six birdies so far on the week, the most of any Ole Miss women's golfer.
Julia Johnson saw a round consistent to that of her round yesterday, as she shot a three-over par 75 to move into a tie for 20th individually. Johnson's back nine saw her go an even par with one birdie on No. 15 followed by a bogey on No. 16.
Redshirt-freshman McKinley Cunningham's round of 77 (+5) on the day included a total of three birdies, including back-to-back birdies on Holes 14 and 15. Cunningham, who is only playing in her second tournament of collegiate golf, now sits in a tie for 27th place with a two-day score of 152 (+8).
Closing out play for the Rebels were Smilla Sonderby and Andrea Lignell, who both shot 74s (+2) in their second rounds on the course. Lignell led the team in birdies on the day with a total of four, and finished her front nine two-under par. Sonderby, a sophomore from Fredercia, Denmark, sits at 158 (+14) and holds a single stroke advantage over Lignell's two-day score of 159.
Arkansas currently holds the team score lead following a 14-under round two score of 274. Their two-day team score of 569 is 11 strokes ahead of second place UCLA.
Ole Miss will tee off their final round at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational at 9:30 a.m. CT Wednesday morning, with coverage by the Golf Channel beginning at 3 p.m. CT.
