JOHNSON OPENS SEASON WITH ANNIKA TITLE

Senior Julia Johnson started her 2021 fall campaign with a bang by capturing the ANNIKA Intercollegiate individual crown in Lake Elmo, Minnesota three weeks ago. Johnson shot 12-under on the week, with a pair of 67 rounds (-5) on both Monday and Tuesday to claim what was her fourth individual tournament win with the Rebels.

CEMENTED IN HISTORY

With her 2021 ANNIKA Intercollegiate individual title win, Julia Johnson moved into a tie for first with Sarah Britt (1989-93) for the most individual tournament wins in Rebels women's golf history with four all-time. Johnson is now either tied or in sole possession of every possible individual record for Ole Miss women's golf.

A PROMISING START FOR SONDERBY

After earning a career-high finish tied for 20th at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, sophomore Smilla Sonderby is off to a solid start for Ole Miss to kick off her second season with the Rebels. Sonderby saw herself log a new career low 54 hole score of 219 (+3) in the tournament, alongside tying her career low 18 hole score of 72 (E) in the second round. Sonderby also tallied 10 birdies in her three rounds in Lake Elmo, which finished as the second highest on the team behind only tournament winner Julia Johnson.

CARRYING MOMENTUM INTO FAYETTEVILLE

The Rebels saw a strong finish in their final rounds at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate that has them poised to carry some momentum into the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Junior Andrea Lignell was able to put together her best round of the tournament on day three, shooting a 68 (-4), while redshirt-freshman McKinley Cunningham logged her best round of the week in the final round with a three-over score of 75. Both Lignell and Cunningham saw five birdies each in their final rounds in Lake Elmo.
