McLaughlin Earns Second Weekly Honor This Season
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After leading Ole Miss to back-to-back sweeps over Alabama and securing its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010, Kylee McLaughlin was named the SEC Setter of the Week on Monday, the conference announced.
The Carrollton, Texas, native racked up a total of 60 assists in the two matches against the Crimson Tide, feeding her hitters to a combined .348 clip over the course of both matches. McLaughlin also added four kills, four blocks and 15 digs on the weekend. With the two victories, Ole Miss notched its first 20-win regular season since 2010.
It is McLaughlin's second time earning SEC weekly honors this season and the third time a Rebel was recognized by the conference this season after Sasha Ratliff was named the SEC Player and Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season.
The Rebels begin postseason play on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. CT, taking on No. 14 Creighton in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
