Football Set to Begin Spring Practice

3/19/2021 | Football

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss will hit the practice fields to officially open 2021 spring football drills on Tuesday.

Spring practice will culminate with the annual Grove Bowl, presented by Mississippi HomeCare on Saturday, April 24. Kickoff of the intrasquad scrimmage is set for 4 p.m. CT and will be televised by SEC Network+. Attendance for the Grove Bowl will be announced in the weeks ahead.

Beginning April 3, Saturday practices (April 3, 10 and 17) will take place at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and will be open to the public.

Gates for the open practice on April 3 will open at 11:30 a.m., with the practice set to begin approximately at noon.

Times for the other open practices will be released on the Ole Miss football Twitter account.

Fans should park in the Pavilion garage and enter through gates 32 and 33 in the southwest corner.

Seating will be available in the south grandstand, and fans are reminded to practice social distancing. Fans are required to wear a face covering upon entry into the facility, while in transit around the concourse and may only remove them when at their seat.

Ole Miss will host its annual Pro Day Thursday, March 25. Five Rebels (Elijah Moore, Kenny Yeboah, Royce Newman, Luke Logan and Jack Propst) will go through drills and workouts with the hope of catching the eye of NFL scouts and teams. The event is closed to the public. Fans are encouraged to follow along on Ole Miss football's social media accounts.

The Rebels won four of their final five games, including a 26-20 win over No. 7 Indiana in the Outback Bowl and return a solid mix of veterans and young talent. Ole Miss returns 78 percent (66 of 85) of its lettermen from last season, including 19 position starters in 2021.

Eight starters and 30 total letterwinners return for one of the most dynamic offenses in the country. The Rebels ranked top 20 in the FBS in nine different offensive categories last season, including having the No. 3 team in the country in total offense. The Rebels shattered the school record with 555.5 yards per game.
