Incoming Rebel Julia Dyess Named PrepVolleyball All-American

Dyess Picks up Second National Honor

OXFORD, Miss. — The accolades continue for incoming outside hitter Julia Dyess as the Brandon, Mississippi. native was recently honored a PrepVolleyball 2020 Fall All-American.
 
PrepVolleyball recently tabbed 100 Fall High School All-Americans who had the greatest impact on their teams and their states in 2020. 
 
"Having a Mississippi native on our roster in 2021 is something that we as a staff are very excited about," said head coach Kayla Banwarth. "But to have a Mississippian make waves nationally as an All-American is so cool for the volleyball community in our state. We are on a mission to grow the game in Mississippi and Julia is paving the way! We're pumped that she'll be wearing a Rebel jersey in the fall."
 
In the fall, Dyess also picked up Under Armour All-American Honorable Mention honors. The outside hitter completed her fall season hitting at a .429 clip and was named All-MAIS from 2018-2020. Dyess broke the Hartfield Academy kill record, tallying over 1,200 career kills in her four years. She ranks second in school history with a total of 699 digs.
 
Dyess will join the Rebels this summer to begin preparation for the 2021 season.
