Men’s Tennis Ranked No. 13, Women’s Tennis No. 21 in Weekly Oracle/ITA Poll

Finn Reynolds and Tim Sandkaulen Hold No. 1 Doubles Ranking 7.4 Points Clear of No. 2 Duo.
TEMPE, Ariz. – Ole Miss men's tennis (11-9, 7-5 SEC) fell back one position to No. 13 in the DI national team rankings and women's tennis moved back two positions to No. 21 on the team leaderboard in the latest Orcale/ITA Rankings released on Wednesday.
Rebels men's tennis has won its only match played since last week's poll on April 14. Ole Miss opened 2021 postseason play by defeating No. 39 LSU on Tuesday. The Rebels defeated the Tigers 4-1 in the second round of the SEC Championships. Ole Miss improved to 2-0 versus LSU this season. The Rebels are one of seven SEC programs ranked within the top 15.
Ole Miss women's tennis moved back to the No. 21 overall team ranking. The Rebels held the No. 21 ranking once previously this season (March 24). The Rebels have fallen to two ranked opponents since last week's rankings. Ole Miss lost to No. 17 on the road to conclude the regular season (April 17) and came up short versus No. 26 Kentucky in the second round of the SEC Championships (April 20).
In the individual singles and doubles rankings the Rebels are well represented among the nation's best players. On the men's side, Finn Reynolds and Tim Sandkaulen have held the No. 1 doubles rankings for the past five weeks. The duo received 62.968 points in the computerized ranking system, 7.401 points clear of No. 2 William Bumberg and Brian Cernoch of North Carolina and 11.776 points ahead of No. 3 Adam Walton and Pat Harper of Tennessee. In singles, Reynolds leads the Rebels at No. 14, Sandkaulen improved 14 positions to No. 32 and Nikola Slavic ranks No. 34.
All ranked women's tennis players slightly moved back in the individual rankings. In singles, Sabina Machalova leads the Rebels in the rankings at No. 28, followed by Tiphanie Fiquet at No. 71 and Tereza Janatova at No. 96. In doubles, Alexa Bortles and Anna Vrbenska shifted back eight spots to No. 28.
Bortles and Machalova improved nine positions in the doubles rankings to No. 74 in the country despite partnering with other teammates in their two doubles matches in the past week. Machalova has earned back-to-back victories at No. 2 doubles partnering with Fiquet.
