Kariesová and Zadori Shine on Day Two of Ole Miss Fall Invite

Rebel Duo Wins in Doubles and Both Win in Singles on Saturday

OXFORD, Miss. – Rebels women's tennis won six matches on Day Two of the Ole Miss Fall Invite hosted at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center on Saturday. The Ole Miss Fall Invite concludes on Sunday.
 
Freshman Ludmila Kariesová and Sophomore Reka Zadori earned the Rebels' first victory of the day by defeating Alabama's Sydney Orefice and Ansley Cheshire in doubles. Kariesová and Zadori dominated the match, winning 6-0. No other Ole Miss team won in doubles on Saturday versus Alabama and Georgia opponents.
 
The Rebels won five of seven singles matches versus Kansas State opponents. Zadori was the only Ole Miss player to win in straight sets, defeating KSU's Manami Ukita 6-2, 6-2.
 
Kareisová defeated the Wildcats' Florentine Dekkers in three sets despite dropping the opening set. Kareisová won 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 to earn her first collegiate singles victory.
 
No. 27 Sabina Machalova came from behind to defeat Kansas State's Rosanna Maffei 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. Machalova improved to 3-1 this fall in singles.
 
Elysia Pool earned a hard-fought victory in a back-and-forth match with KSU's Ioana Gheorghita. After losing the first set in a tiebreak, 6-7 (2), Pool took the second set 6-3, forcing a third. Both Pool and Dekkers battled, reaching a match deciding tiebreak. Pool won the tiebreak 7-4, took the set and won the match 6-7 (2), 6-3, 7-6 (4).
 
Rachel Krzyzak won due to the retirement of her opponent, Maria Linares, deep into the second set. Krzyzak dropped the first, but was ahead 4-1 in the second set at the time Linares withdrew.
 
Anaëlle Leclerq-Ficher and Kelsey Mize lost to Wildcat opponents in straight-set defeats.
 
Georgia dominated the other singles session of the day, winning all six singles matches (one by retirement) versus Alabama opponents. The Bulldogs won all six matches in straight sets.
 
Georgia went undefeated on Saturday, also going 4-0 in doubles. Both of UGA's ranked duos of No. 42 Morgan Coppoc and Mell Reasco and No. 50 Guillermina Grant and Ania Hertel partnered together today after playing with different teammates yesterday.
 
Ole Miss will face Georgia opponents in doubles at 9 a.m. CT tomorrow before taking on Alabama opponents in singles at approximately 1 p.m. CT.
