Women’s Golf Wraps Up Play at the Lady Bulldog Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. – The Ole Miss women's golf team wrapped up play at the Lady Bulldog Invitational on Sunday, with both McKinley Cunningham and Ellen Hutchinson-Kay finding spots in the top 20 at the tournament's conclusion.

Improving on her score of 77 in the tournament's opening round, McKinley Cunningham led the Rebels by earning a share of a 12th place finish at the Lady Bulldog, shooting a 75 (+3) on the day. This marks a new career-high finish for Cunningham, as the redshirt-freshman surpassed her previous career-high finish of 18th at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup from last fall.

Also earning a top 20 finish on the weekend was senior Ellen Hutchinson-Kay, who shot the best round of the weekend for the Rebels on Sunday (72) to help guide her up the leaderboard into a 17th place finish. Hutchinson-Kay finished Sunday with the most birdies for the Rebels on the day with a total of four to cap off her first tournament appearance of the 2021-22 season.

Freshman Natacha Host Husted ended play on Sunday with a round of 80 (+8), which saw the Copenhagen, Denmark, native settle into a tie for 22nd when all was said and done. Host Husted ended her tournament earning par on a total of 26 holes, second only to her teammate McKinley Cunningham who finished the weekend with 29 total pars.

Finishing her first collegiate tournament with the Rebels was Maddie May, who ended her Ole Miss debut with a 32nd place finish in Athens (79-85–164).

The Rebels will now have a week off before returning to action for the Lamkin Invitational in Sante Fe, California. The two-day tournament is set to run Feb. 14-15 at The Farms Golf Club.
