Weisz Grabs Another Medal at President's Cup

Rebel Alum Secures Sixth Medal of the Year

CAIRO, Egypt – After making it the semifinals of the ISSF Presidents Cup, Ali Weisz earned a bronze medal in 10m Air Rifle. The medal is Weisz's sixth of the year and second bronze.
 
The USA Shooting National Team member and 2020 Tokyo Olympian was invited to the President's Cup because she has a world ranking of 12 or higher in this event. Weisz is currently ranked second in 10m women's air rifle.
 
Weisz competed in the air rifle event over the span of three days. On Thursday, the Rebel alum fired a 629.5 to place in the top eight which had her advance to the ranking matches. She hit a one nine in her first ten shots but proceed to hit nothing but 10 or higher the rest of the way.
 
In the ranking match, Weisz was sorted into ranking match two where she finished in second, missing first by 0.2 points. Weisz fired nothing but 10's in the round, scoring a 210 and earning her a spot in the semifinals of the event.
 
The Montana native fell short in the semifinals, scoring seven points. Weisz and fellow USA National team member Sagen Maddalena received bronze medals.
 
Weisz has performed well in Cairo as the newest medal marks her fourth earned in Egypt.
