Host Husted, Lignell Post Strong Second Rounds for Injury-Shortened Rebel Lineup

ATHENS, Ga. – The Ole Miss women's golf team ended up in 11th on the team leaderboard following the second round of play from the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Georgia on Saturday, now holding a two-day team score of 617 (+41) on the weekend.

The Rebels continue to lead the field in par-5 scoring for the second-consecutive round, with Ole Miss now scoring at one-under in the category through two rounds. A total of 21 birdies have been recorded by the Rebels in the tournament, including a combined 14 from freshman Natacha Host Husted (7) and junior Andrea Lignell (7).

The Rebels were again forced to play with just four golfers, as Chiara Tamburlini's wrist injury caused her to sit out for a second consecutive day.

Host Husted paced the Rebels on the course, ending round two with a 76 (+4) scorecard while sinking four birdies on the day. Ranking third in the field in par-3 scoring (E), Host Husted enters Sunday's final round in 11th place with a chance to earn her second career top 10 finish with the Rebels.

Recovering from some struggles in her opening round on Friday, Lignell would card the best round of the day for the Rebels with a 73 (+1) that would include a trio of birdies for the junior. Lignell now sits just outside of the top 20 in a tie for 25th, as Lignell's strong par-4 scoring (+1) on the tournament sees her leading the Rebels in the category through two rounds of play.

Wrapping up play for the Rebels were seniors Julia Johnson and Ellen Hutchinson-Kay, with Johnson ending her day with an 82 (+10) while Hutchinson-Kay would card an 84 (+12). Johnson will now enter Sunday's final round of play in a tie for 57th, with Hutchinson-Kay not far behind her in a tie for 63rd overall.

South Carolina sits atop the team leaderboard heading into Sunday's final round, as the Gamecocks possess a two-day team score of 586 (+10).

Tee times for the Rebels' final round of play in Georgia are set to begin at 7:47 a.m. CT off hole 10, with the last Rebel teeing off at 8:23 a.m. CT.
