Men’s Golf Sits Tied for Fifth Through Day One at the Mossy Oak Collegiate

Two Rebels in Top 15 Contention
WEST POINT, Miss. – Just down the road at the Mossy Oak Collegiate, Ole Miss men's golf opened play in its regular season finale and sits tied for fifth through one day of competition. Play was ultimately suspended early due to darkness.
Kye Meeks along with Jackson Suber, paced the Rebels with both in a tie for 13th. In the first 18, Meeks fired off a round of 70 (-2), while Suber finished one-over at 73 (+1). Meeks added the Rebels lone eagle of the day in the second round on the 17th hole, as the redshirt freshman is on track to his best finish.
The reigning Co-SEC men's golfer of the week, Suber, tallied six birdies including four so far through round two. The senior is in the hunt for his fourth top-15 finish of the season.
Closely behind Meeks and Suber, sits Sarut Vongchaisit tied for 20th with a score of 131 (-2) through 33 holes. Three birdies on the back nine in the first round, propelled Vongchaisit into a strong standing heading into the second half of the day.
With two holes remaining in his second round, Evan Brown sits tied for 30th at 137 (-2). Brown was one of the best on the day on par 4s, shooting (-1). Rounding off the Rebels is sophomore Brett Schell in 82nd, after earning four birdies to go 135 (+4) on Monday.
Round two will resume tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. CT, immediately followed by the conclusion of the Mossy Oak Collegiate with round three.
