Auburn Individual Marks Regular Season Finale for Women’s Golf

Hutchinson-Kay, May, Cunningham Travel to Saugahatchee Country Club for Individual-Based Event
AUBURN, Ala. – The Ole Miss women's golf team will send a trio of golfers to participate in the Auburn Tiger Individual to close out the team's 2021-22 regular season at Saugahatchee Country Club.
The tournament, which is set to run April 4-5, will feature 54 total holes of stroke play with 36 holes scheduled to be played on Monday.

-- Two-time Schools Regional Champion in 2020 and 2019
-- Has played on New Zealand Golf Junior Training Squad since 2019
McKinley Cunningham (R-Fr.)
-- Holds a stroke average of 77.05 over the 2021-22 season
-- Made her collegiate debut at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate
-- Finished with new career-high finish at the Lady Bulldog Invitational (T-12th)
-- Carded new career lows 18-hole (71) and 54-hole (227) scores at the Stephens Cup
-- Matched her career-low 54-hole total of 227 at the ICON Invitational
-- Earned comeback tie in match play against No. 5 golfer in nation at East Lake Cup

THE COURSE |
Playing at 6,250 yards as a par 72, Saugahatchee Country Club Course was designed by Ward Northrup and was ranked one of the top five courses in the state by Golf Digest. Additionally, the Columbus Ledger Enquirer has credited the course with featuring "four of the best eighteen holes" in the Chattahoochee Valley. The course has a rating of 73.7 and slope rating of 133.

The Rebels come into their final tournament of the 2021-22 regular season ranked as the No. 22 team in the nation by Golfweek/Sagarin, while also ranking No. 24 in the country according to Golfstat's NCAA Team Rankings. Individually, Chiara Tamburlini continues to climb up both the Golfstat and Golfweek Individual Rankings, as she now sits ranked No. 20 in the country by Golfstat and No. 28 by Golfweek/Sagarin. Not far behind Tamburlini is fellow junior Andrea Lignell, who is now ranked No. 59 and No. 61 by Golfstat and Golfweek/Sagarin, respectively.
JOHNSON REPRESENTS REBELS AT AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AM |
Senior Julia Johnson made the trip out to Augusta, Georgia for the second-consecutive year to take part in the annual Augusta National Women's Amateur, which took place March 30-April 2. Johnson's tournament would wrap up on Friday morning, as the St. Gabriel, Louisiana, native would miss the cut for Saturday's final round after logging a two-round score of 156 (+12). Johnson is now the first Rebel in team history to participate in the event two times in her career.
LIGNELL EARNS SEVENTH TOP 20 FINISH OF THE YEAR |
For the seventh time of the season, junior Andrea Lignell saw herself in the top 20 for the Rebels, as Lignell would close out her trip to the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic by tying for 16th. Logging a scorecard of 224 (+8), Lignell put together back-to-back rounds of 73 (+1) to close out her tournament, gliding up the leaderboard to the 17th top 20 finish of her career at Ole Miss. Lignell has now finished in the top 20 in seven of her last eight tournament appearances for the Rebels, including having a three-tournament streak of top 20 finishes.
