Rebels Add Young Talent in Transfer Portal

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss head softball coach Jamie Trachsel announced the addition of Alabama transfer Jenna Lord on Friday, adding more young talent to the Rebel squad.

"I came to Ole Miss because I felt an instant connection with the coaches," said Lord. "I love how they made me feel right at home and got to know me on a personal level first. I'm excited to get to work and compete as a Rebel!"

Staying in the SEC, Jenna Lord joins the Rebels after playing one season at Alabama. She appeared in 45 games for the Crimson Tide, making 30 starts. Lord split time between second base, right field and the DP position in Tuscaloosa.

As a freshman, she recorded 26 hits, including six doubles and two home runs, while hitting .289. The Trussville, Alabama, native also scored 11 runs and drove in 19 more. With three years of eligibility remaining, the infielder brings a strong bat and savvy defensive skills to Oxford.

Coming out of Hewitt-Trussville High School, Lord was ranked as a top 20 recruit by Extra Inning Softball and Fastpitch News. In 2020, she was a part of the Junior Olympic Cup Championship team. Lord also earned 7A Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-State honors in Florida in 2019.
