Cheer and Rebelettes Win First National Title
ORLANDO, Fla. – For the second consecutive year, the Ole Miss spirit squads brought back hardware from the Universal Cheerleaders/Dance Association College Nationals, claiming the D1A Spirit Program Game Day National Championship.
Ole Miss earned a score of 92.9167 in the semifinals to advance in the top spot. The Rebels went on to win the national title with a 94.65 in the finals.
"I am beyond ecstatic for our Coed and Rebelettes and their national title in the Division IA Spirit Gameday category," said Director of Athletic Spirit Groups Rachel Levetzow. "It was amazing being able to create this winning routine alongside our entire coaching staff and watch our vision come to life on the stage. Watching our two teams work together to accomplish this goal is what I am most excited to take away from this experience. Both teams wanted to walk away with the gold medal, and it was pure magic watching it happen and seeing their reaction!"
In the D1A Spirit Program Game Day category, both Cheer and Rebelettes competed together on stage to create one action-packed performance. The teams were evaluated on their ability to lead the crowd, proper game day skill incorporations, execution of skills, motion technique and overall routine.
