Women’s Tennis Finishes at Roberta Alison Invitational, Three Advance to Finals in Starkville

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. / STARKVILLE, Miss. – Ole Miss women's tennis wraps up at the Roberta Alison Invitational. Three of the four at the John Cade Classic made it to the finals in two singles brackets.
On the final day of the Roberta Alison Invitational, Lucie Devier and Briana Crowley grabbed one more double victory, their second in as many days. The doubles team defeated Ellison Reynoldson and Karolina Jacobson from Wisconsin, 6-4.
The four Rebels at the John Cade Classic continue to excel on Day Two. Emma Kette and Reka Zadori began the morning, cruising to an 8-2 doubles victory! In two seasons, the duo is 8-4 in doubles together.
However, it was again single where the Rebels showed out the most. Three of the four Rebels won both their singles matches for a spot in the finals. In the White singles bracket, Zadori won her quarterfinal match by a score of 6-4, 6-1. The Hungary native advanced to the finals after a 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 victory over Mississippi State's Maria Rizzolo. Zadori will play Lika Persypkina on Sunday.
On the other bracket, Kette made it look easier as she cruised to two straight-set victories. The sophomore first defeated Germany Davis, 6-4, 6-3, then Olga Bienzobas, 6-1, 6-2, in the semifinals. Kette will play her freshman teammate, Andrea Nova, in the finals. Nova fought from behind in the quarterfinals in a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) win. The long match did not affect her as she swiftly defeated Dharani Niroshan, 6-1, 6-2.
While the Roberta Alison Invitational has ended, the three Rebels still alive in the John Cade Classic are set to compete in the singles finals at 10:30 a.m. CT!
