Women’s Golf Set For Illini Women’s Invitational

Rebels Look to Secure Third Trophy in Third Tournament of the Fall
MEDINAH, Ill. – No. 8 Ole Miss women's golf is set to make a trip to Medinah, Illinois, for the Illini Women's Invitational, hosted at the Medinah Country Club, from Oct. 9-10.
15 total teams will participate in the fifth annual fixture including the Rebels, who are making their first trip back to the tournament since the team's second place finish in 2019.
The tournament will consist of 54 total holes of stroke play beginning with 36 holes scheduled to be played on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.

THE COURSE
Medinah Country Club is one of the most prominent private country clubs in the country located just 25 miles west of the city, in the Chicago suburbs. Founded in the 1920s by a group of Shriners, Medinah Country Club boasts three world class golf courses, all originally designed by famed golf course architect Tom Bendelow. The massive 120,000-square foot clubhouse designed by Richard Schmid provides a place for families and individuals who wish to participate in a variety of community activities from health and wellness to dining and engaging social activities.
REBELS IN THE RANKINGS
Ole Miss enters their week in Medinah ranked as the No. 8 team in the country according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Women's Team Collegiate Rankings. A total of three Rebels have found their way into the top 100 amateur rankings individually, with Andrea Lignell residing at No. 10. Caitlyn Macnab currently ranks No. 18 overall according to Golfweek, while Justine Fournand holds a ranking of No. 77.
MACNAB'S MAKING MOVES
At the Mason Rudolph Championship, Caitlyn Macnab led the Rebels to their second top five finish of the season with a three-round total of 853 (-11). The Rebels came out hot on Friday and led the field in par-3 scoring (+1) throughout the weekend. Macnab, the South African native, shot all three rounds under par (69-67-68) which ranked her second in the field for birdies (17) and par-3 scoring (-3) at the end of the weekend. Macnab's final round was flawless as she made four birdies and 14 pars, which secured her second career individual title and SEC Player of the Week honors. The junior is the first Rebel in the 2023-24 season to win an individual title and the 31st golfer in Ole Miss program history to achieve a medalist finish.
THE FINAL FALL PUSH
Following the team's trip to Medinah for the Illini Women's Invitational, the Rebels will have one last tournament to wrap up their fall season, with the team traveling to Knoxville, Tennessee, for the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate. The Rebels' fall finale is set to run Oct. 15-17 at Cherokee Country Club. The Rebels will then move into their winter break before returning for their spring season-opener at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, taking place Feb. 4-6 at the Grand Reserve Golf Club.
