Men’s Golf Earn No. 5 in NCAA Clippd Rankings

OXFORD, Miss. – The NCAA released its first official rankings of the 2023-24 season, placing the Ole Miss men's golf team at No. 5 in the nation with two players inside the top 100.
The Rebels earned the top-5 ranking after their successful fall season, shooting 50-under through its three tournament appearances. Earning a preseason ranking of No. 24 from The Golf Coaches Association of America, Ole Miss has climbed in the rankings, boasting a 32-6-0 record.
Ole Miss has finished in the top-5 in all three fall tournaments, including two 2nd place finishes. The Rebels additionally wrote their names in the record book, shooting a 262-round score which marks as the lowest-single round total in program history.
Leading for Ole Miss is sophomore transfer Michael La Sasso, who earned a No. 8 ranking by Clippd. La Sasso has been the Rebels' top finisher in all three tournaments, finishing inside the top 15 in every appearance with two being in the top 5. La Sasso possesses a 68.44 stroke average.
Alongside La Sasso inside the top 100 is sophomore Cameron Tankersley who earned a ranking of No. 74 with his stroke average of 69.89 and three top-20 finishes.
Following an agreed handover period from Spikemark, the NCAA announced that Clippd, a leader in the golf technology industry, will provide NCAA golf scoring and ranking services. Clippd is a golf data platform that provides performance insights for more than 100 NCAA Division I, II and III college programs. Over the last few weeks, following an approach by Spikemark for assistance, Clippd has worked to provide the infrastructure necessary to compile, validate and publicize fall 2023 results from all Division I, II and III men's and women's golf competitions.
