11/24/2023 | Women's Basketball

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's basketball graduate guard KK Deans will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season after suffering a knee injury that will require surgery.

"This is obviously an unfortunate situation for KK and our team," said head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin. "She has been a bright spot for us this season and we will stick beside KK during her recovery."

Deans was injured early on Monday in the Battle4Atlantis Championship against Michigan after starting for the Rebels. She had two points in five minutes of action against the Wolverines.

The graduate transfer from Florida started in each of Ole Miss' six games, averaging 9.3 points per outing and led the Rebels with 3.8 assists per game. Deans reached double-figure scoring in three games, including a season-high 16 points against Temple.

In her fifth year of collegiate action, Deans transferred to Ole Miss after spending a year at Florida and three seasons at West Virginia. According to ESPN, Deans was rated as one of ESPN's Top-15 available transfers. Through 114 career appearances, the Greensboro, N.C., native had been averaging 11.6 points per game and accumulated 365 assists.

Coming off of the Battle4Atlantis Championship this past week, Ole Miss is back in Oxford on Saturday against Little Rock from the SJB Pavilion. Tipoff against the Trojans is slated for 3 p.m. CT on SEC Network +.
