12/12/2023 | Men's Basketball
OXFORD, Miss. – Building off of a Culture Week sweep, the Ole Miss men's basketball team added two more to the win column this week at home against Mount St. Mary's and on the road at UCF, and Chris Beard's squad became one of just seven remaining undefeated teams in college basketball at 9-0.
Ole Miss rose to No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll on Monday, entering the rankings for the first time since 2019. Among his nine years as an NCAA Division-I head coach, Beard has now led his teams to a top-25 ranking in each of the last seven seasons.
The Rebels now stand as one of seven unbeaten teams, right alongside some of the nation's best: No. 1 Arizona, No. 3 Houston, No. 6 Baylor, No. 11 Clemson, No. 12 Oklahoma and No. 20 James Madison.
Ole Miss stands alone as the only remaining undefeated SEC team.
This marks just the fourth time in program history the Rebels have gone undefeated through their first nine games of the season, with the last coming in 2007-08.
2007-08: 13-0
2000-01: 11-0
1936-37: 11-0
Next Up: Cal in Texas
Ole Miss will have a break in the midweek before hitting the road once again for another Power 5 test against Cal in the 2023 Hall of Fame Series in San Antonio. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Dec. 16, on SEC Network.
The Rebels have two non-conference home games remaining: Dec. 19 vs. Troy and Dec. 31 vs. Bryant.
Single-game tickets for SEC games went on sale this week and are available for purchase at OleMissTix.com.
