 THE COURSE

Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the Reserve at Lake Keowee Golf Course spans 6,386 yards and will play as a par 72 for those in attendance this weekend in Clemson. The course is highlighted by the vast water feature that is Lake Keowee, with multiple creeks branching out from the main body to intersect with the course's fairways. There's a very strong finish to the round here, starting at the long par four 15th and ending at the 444-yard 18th, which serves as a tightly bunkered closer that runs parallel to the penultimate hole. It's features like these that have helped the Reserve at Lake Keowee earn the designation of being the No. 27 golf course in the state of South Carolina according to Top100GolfCourses.com.

 REBELS IN THE RANKINGS

Ole Miss slotted into the No. 17 position overall in the latest NCAA Team Rankings released by Golfstat, with the team also sitting 20th in the nation in Golfweek/Sagarin's Team Collegiate Rankings. The Rebel lineup will now feature two Top 25 golfers in the individual rankings, as seniors Andrea Lignell and Chiara Tamburlini lead the charge for the Ole Miss squad. Lignell currently paces the Rebels, holding the No. 8 and No. 13 rankings in the Golfweek/Sagarin and Golfstat NCAA Individual Rankings, respectively. Tamburlini sits just behind Lignell overall, with the St. Gallen, Switzerland, native coming in at No. 22 in Golfweek's rankings and No. 24 according to Golfstat to enter the spring season finale in Clemson.

TAMBURLINI NAMED CO-SEC GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Ole Miss women's golf senior Chiara Tamburlini was recognized for the first time of her career as Co-SEC Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced a week ago.The honor comes following a third place finish for Tamburlini at the Valspar Augusta Invitational, as the senior ultimately shot a 139 (-5) over of the tournament's two rounds of action. Fighting against nine other golfers ranked within Golfstat's Top 50 Individual Rankings, as well as a rainstorm that cut the tournament down from three rounds to two, Tamburlini was a trailblazer for the Rebels with rounds of 69 (-3) and 70 (-2) helping the senior scoop up her second Top 5 finish of the 2022-23 season. The St. Gallen, Switzerland, native has now tallied seven Top 5 finishes over her four-year playing career for the Rebels, ranking sixth all-time in program history. The senior has also logged a total of eight rounds of par or better golf on the year, as well as four rounds in the 60s this season.

LIGNELL NAMED TO THE ANNIKA AWARD FIRST SPRING WATCH LIST

Andrea Lignell found herself amongst 15 of the nation's top collegiate women's golfers named to The ANNIKA Award First Spring Watch List, presented by Stifel. The award is given annually to the most outstanding women's college golfer, as voted on by players, coaches and media. The Gothenburg, Sweden, native has had a historic run for the Rebels with Top 3 finishes in five of her eight tournament appearances in 2022-23, including two tournament wins. This marks the second time this season that Lignell has found her way onto the award's watch list, having been named to the final fall watch list with teammate Chiara Tambrulini earlier in the season.

LIGNELL AND TAMBURLINI RECEIVE INVITES TO ANWA

The senior Rebel duo of Andrea Lignell and Chiara Tamburlini received invitations to the 2023 installment of the prestigious Augusta National Women's Amateur, marking the first time of either golfer's career that they've received an invitation to play at the ANWA. The tournament, taking place a week before The Masters, will feature 72 of the best women's amateur golfers in the world and will be held at the Champions Retreat Golf Club. Following the second round, the field will be cut to 30 with the final round to be played at Augusta National. Recent Rebel alumnus Julia Johnson also earned an invitation to the 2023 iteration of the tournament, marking the fourth consecutive Augusta National Women's Amateur that she's received an invitation to.
