Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach: Sybil Cumberland

Kid Coach is a partnership between Children's of Mississippi and the Ole Miss Rebels to salute pediatric patients. Their inspirational stories remind us just how truly courageous these young people are.
This week's Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach is Sybil Cumberland of Preston, MS.
When she was only two-and-a-half months old, Sybil's parents, Jason and Tara, rushed her to the ER because she was struggling to breathe. Unbeknownst to anyone, Sybil was born with several holes in her heart, and she was going into congestive heart failure.
Sybil came to Children's of Mississippi for open heart surgery to repair the holes. Four months later, at six-and-a-half months, she had her second heart surgery.
Thanks to her team at Children's of Mississippi, Sybil's surgeries went well. Today, she is a healthy, thriving girl who loves competitive dance and tumbling. In 2020, she served as Mississippi's 2020 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Champion!
