Paige Smith Announces Return for 2024 Season

Infielder to Utilize Extra Year of Eligibility
OXFORD, Miss. – A key piece to the offense over the past four seasons, Ole Miss softball's Paige Smith announced she will utilize her extra year of eligibility and return for a fifth season with the Rebels.
"Oxford is my home," said Smith. "There is no other place I would rather finish my softball career. The people, the coaches and my teammates made this decision very easy. I can't wait to close out my final year in a new stadium. There is lots of unfinished business. Hotty Toddy!"
Returning for a fifth season, Smith is one of seven players in Ole Miss history with 100 hits and 100 RBI. She is one of the top sluggers to ever wear a Rebel uniform, ranking fourth in program history with 32 career home runs and seventh in slugging percentage.
Smith, a Corona, California, product, has started 203 games and has 149 career hits and 134 RBI to her name. She looks to cement her legacy as one of the best to ever play in Oxford.
"Paige Smith has been a name associated with Ole Miss softball since her commitment," said head coach Jamie Trachsel. "She has been a cornerstone of our program's success since she's been here. So it is with great excitement and pride we welcome her back for her final year of eligibility to HER program. We look forward to being part of her continued growth and development, not only as a person and a player but as a teammate and team leader of the program.
