THE COURSE
Since opening in 1992, Vanderbilt Legends Club has made its mark in the world of golf by receiving national recognition and accolades. The par 72 North Course, stretching 7,190 yards from the championship tees, was designed by Hall of Fame golfer Tom Kite and world-renowned golf course architect, Bob Cupp. The greens are well undulated with the promise of multiple hole locations and the bunkers are large and boldly shaped. The course path provides an inspired variety of holes playing through lush fields and around lakes and streams. The par 71 South Course, 71 measuring 7,100 yards, takes players through verdant fields winding in the shadow of historic Roper's Knob hillside. With a mix of wooded and open spaces, the South Course offers a unique and challenging golf experience. Together, these courses are widely recognized as among the finest in Tennessee, having served as the hosts of many local, regional, and national amateur and professional competitions.
REBELS IN THE RANKINGS
Heading into the second tournament of the year, the Rebels check in at No. 3 in the Golfweek Preseason Rankings, No. 13 in the Golf Channel Preseason Rankings and No. 16 in the Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll Preseason Rankings. A pair of Ole Miss women's golfers, Macnab and Lignell, were also named to the second team of the Golf Channel's Preseason All-America list.
OLE MISS TEARS IT UP AT THE COUGAR CLASSIC
The Ole Miss women's golf team came away with a tournament title in the team's season-opening fixture, as the Rebels took home top honors at the 2023 Cougar Classic for the second consecutive year. Ending with a three-round team score of 816 (-36), the Rebels crushed the program record for lowest tournament total and the Cougar Classic tournament record. Much of the Rebel's momentum on the week can be credited to the transfer duo of Fournand and Macnab. They blazed the course in all three rounds of play, both shooting a score of 203 (-10) and tied for fifth place to help Ole Miss secure its first title of the season.
NEXT ON THE TEE
Following this weekend's stint in Franklin, Ole Miss will travel to Medinah, Illinois to begin play in the Illini Women's Invitational (Oct. 9-10).
