Men’s Tennis Set for ITA All-American Championships

Singles and Doubles Competition to Take Place Sept. 30-Oct. 8 at the University of Tulsa
TULSA, Okla. – Ole Miss men's tennis continues their busy fall season with the team traveling to Tulsa for the annual ITA All-American Championships, which is set to run from Sept. 30-Oct. 8.
Nikola Slavic, Lukas Engelhardt, Noah Schlagenhauf, Isac Stromberg, John Hallquist Lithén, and Gordon Whitwell all earned spots in the overall tournament draw. Slavic and Engelhardt will each compete in singles and doubles play, while Lithén, Schlagenhauf, Stromberg, and Whitwell will only participate in singles.
The individual tournament, hosted at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center, will consist of both singles and doubles brackets, with singles including pre-qualifying, qualifying and main draws while doubles will consist of just qualifying and main draws.

FALL SLATE
With the conclusion of the ITA All-American Championships, the Rebels will approach the halfway point of the team's five-tournament fall schedule. Ole Miss will then head to Auburn University for this year's installment of the ITA Regional Championships, Oct. 12-17. The Rebels' fall season then concludes with a doubleheader weekend consisting of the ITA Future Fayetteville (Oct. 29-Nov. 5) in Fayetteville, Ark., and the ITA Fall Championships (Nov. 1-5) in San Diego, Calif.
REBELS OPEN THE SEASON IN TUSCALOOSA
The Rebels kicked off their 2022 fall season just a week ago when the team traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the SEC/Big Ten Challenge hosted at the University of Alabama. Following three days of play, the Rebels capped off their weekend with an overall singles record of 11-5 and overall doubles record of 8-1. Senior, Slavic, saw the best individual performance of the weekend for Ole Miss, ending his time undefeated in singles play (3-0) and doubles play (3-), while also receiving the Most Outstanding Player award.

Nikola Slavic, Lukas Engelhardt, Noah Schlagenhauf, Isac Stromberg, John Hallquist Lithén, and Gordon Whitwell all earned spots in the overall tournament draw. Slavic and Engelhardt will each compete in singles and doubles play, while Lithén, Schlagenhauf, Stromberg, and Whitwell will only participate in singles.

- Enters 2023 fall season ranked No. 8 in doubles by the ITA alongside Nikola Slavic
- Concluded the 2022-23 season with a 17-19 singles record and 18-8 doubles record
- NCAA Double Championships alternate with partner Nikola Slavic
John Hallquist Lithén (Sr.) - Gothenburg, Sweden
- Competing in Singles Qualifying Draw
- Went 2-1 in singles and a perfect 3-0 in doubles at the first tournament of the 2023 fall season
- Enters 2023 fall season ranked No. 77 in singles by the ITA
- Finished 2022-23 with a record of 22-9 in singles and 15-20 in doubles
- 2023 All-SEC Second Team selection
Nikola Slavic (Sr.) – Stockholm, Sweden
- Competing in Singles Main Draw and Doubles Main Draw
- Was perfect in the first tournament of the fall season, going 3-0 in both singles and doubles
- Received the Most Outstanding Player award at the 2023 SEC/Big 10 Challenge
- Enters 2023 fall season ranked No. 8 in doubles by the ITA alongside Lukas Engelhardt
- Enters 2023 fall season ranked No. 34 in singles by the ITA
Noah Schlagenhauf (So.) – Buertingen, Germany
- Competing in Singles Pre-Qualifying Draw
- Went 2-1 in singles and a perfect 3-0 in doubles at the first tournament of the 2023 fall season
- Compiled a 12-9 singles record and 7-9 doubles record in the 2022-23 season
- Went 2-0 in singles during the ITA Kickoff Weekend
- Tallied a 7-3 singles record in non-conference play
Isac Stromberg (So.) – Stockholm, Sweden
- Competing in Singles Pre-Qualifying Draw
- Went a perfect 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles at the first tournament of the 2023 fall season
- Compiled a 12-12 singles record and 7-16 doubles record in the 2023 season
- Clinched four matches for the Rebels in singles
- Secured the doubles point four times
Gordon Whitwell (So.) – Oxford, Miss.
- Competing in Singles Pre-Qualifying Draw
- Went 0-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles at the first tournament of the 2023 fall season
- Saw action in 12 singles matches and six doubles matches
- Finished 2022-23 with a record of 6-9 in singles
- Clinched his first collegiate singles in against Belmont with a 7-6 (4), 1-6, 6-4 victory
