Men’s Tennis Set to Host Season-Opening Doubleheader

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss men's tennis is set to open the team's spring schedule with a doubleheader on January 14, as the Rebels play host to back-to-back matches against North Alabama and Jackson State on Sunday.
Both matches for the Rebels are scheduled to be played at Willian F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center, with the first match against the Lions set to begin at 10:30 a.m. CT. The second clash of the day between the Tigers and Lions will follow immediately after the first with a projected start time of approximately 1:30 p.m. CT.
Live scoring and live video for both matches will be available to the public. Links to both can be found above as well as on the Ole Miss men's tennis schedule page.
Rebels in the Rankings
Senior Nikola Slavic enters the spring season in the ITA's Top 100 of the singles rankings. Slavic leads the way for the Rebels, with a fall singles record of 5-2 including a ranked victory propelling him up into the No. 99 spot.
Slavic and Engelhardt – A Dangerous Duo
Leading the charge on the doubles courts for the Rebels this fall was the duo of Slavic and Lukas Engelhardt, who punched their ticket into the ITA National Fall Championships after finishing as ITA Southern Regional Runners-Up in doubles. Slavic and Engelhardt compiled a total of ten victories side-by-side for the fall season, helping to push both seniors to over 55 career doubles wins.
Bringing in the New Year
The Rebels' season-opening doubleheader marks the first set of 23 total dual matches for the team's spring slate, as well as the first of two doubleheaders the Rebels will be hosting in Oxford. Ole Miss' SEC slate will consist of 12 matchups, beginning with a test at home against Auburn on March 1.

Fans who attend Monday's pair of matches will receive a 2024 Ole Miss men's tennis team poster, complete with the team's spring schedule.
