Volleyball Signs Transfer Ragan Kinard

1/29/2024 | Volleyball

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss volleyball head Coach Bre Henry announced the signing of transfer outside hitter Ragan Kinard from South Florida on Monday.

Kinard joins the Rebels after spending three seasons at USF, where she appeared in nearly 50 matches for the Bulls. During her time in Tampa, she helped turn around the program, guiding South Florida to a first-place finish in the East in the American Conference in 2023 after winning only one conference match in 2021. Bringing a veteran presence to the court, she looks to continue to add to the culture that Henry is building at Ole Miss.

This past season, she took the court in 12 matches. In just 33 sets, she totaled 16 kills on 49 attempts and blocked 22 swings. As a sophomore in 2022, she saw action in seven matches. In that span, she tallied 18 kills with a season-high eight against Temple and picked up 13 total blocks.

As a true freshman, Kinard played in 30 matches, ranking fifth on the team with 166 kills. A key reserve, she recorded double-digit kills in three matches, including a season-high 17 against Memphis, in which she hit .447 with zero attacking errors. Kinard also logged 42 blocks, 28 digs and three assists.

A five-year letterwinner at A. Crawford Mosley High School in Panama City, Florida, Kinard racked up 1,072 kills on a .279 percent hitting percentage to go along with 373 digs, 215 total blocks and 73 aces in her high school career. Kinard was named the Florida District 2-5A Player of the Year and first team all-county, while being nominated to the Under Armor All-America Team and selected to the AVCA All-America Watch List as a senior. In 2019, she earned first team all-county honors and was named to the 2019 AVCA Phenom Watch List after logging 327 kills. Off the court, Kinard, a three-time captain, excelled in the classroom, earning the AVCA Team Academic Award (2017-19) and was a three-time AAU Academic All-American (2017-19).
