Women’s Tennis Duo Advances to Semifinals at ITA Regionals

AUBURN, Ala. – Ole Miss women's tennis' Ludmila Kareisová and Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher advanced to the ITA Southern Regional Semifinal after a successful Sunday.
The dynamic duo faced Maria Rizzolo and Chiara Di Genova of Mississippi State in the doubles quarterfinals. The standout pairing added another victory to their campaign, defeating their opponents, 8-1. This also marked senior Leclercq-Ficher's 40th overall doubles win.
It's the first time an Ole Miss pair reached the semifinals in the regional tournament since Kariesová and Kelsey Mize did so in 2021.
Senior transfer Lucie Petruzelova faced Auburn's DJ Bennett quarterfinals of the singles main draw. After falling short in set one, Petruzelova caught fire entering set two. The Rebel came back from a 5-point set deficit, to make the match 5-4. Ultimately, Petruzelova fell short with a final straight set score of 6-2, 6-4, to end her journey in the tournament.
In the doubles main draw earlier in the day, Rachel Krzyzak and Emma Kette faced off against Auburn's Angella Okutoyi and Merna Refaat, falling short, 8-1
Semifinals for doubles will begin Monday morning as the Rebels will take on Auburn's Ava Hrastar and DJ Bennett.
