Men's Tennis Concludes Run at ITA Southern Regional

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team continued their time at the ITA Southern Regional, hosted on the campus of LSU on Saturday. Noah Schlagenhauf represented the Rebels in the quarterfinals singles round while two Ole Miss duos competed in the round of sixteen in doubles.
Schlagenhauf started the day for the Rebels on the singles courts and squared off against Mississippi State's 60th-ranked Mario Martinez Serrano. The junior fought hard, but ultimately dropped the match 6-4, 6-4 which concluded Schlagenhauf's run.
Isac Strömberg and Gordon Whitwell played Alabama's No. 18 ranked pair of Andrii Zimnokh and Zach Foster to start the day on the doubles court. The junior duo fought hard but ultimately fell 8-2.
Schlagenhauf and Matthieu Chambonniere played Carlos Gimenez Perez and Matias Ponce De Leon from Alabama in the doubles round of sixteen. The duo stayed eager and notched an 8-4 win to advance to the quarterfinals.
In the round of eight, Schlagenhauf and Chamboniere faced LSU's No. 20 ranked pair of Julien Penzlin and Aleksi Lofman. Schlagenhauf and Chambonniere stayed competitive but dropped the match to Alabama's duo, 8-6.
FALL SLATE CONTINUES
Ole Miss will continue their fall run in Atlanta at the Georgia Tech Fall Invite (Nov. 1-3) before traveling west to the ITA Masters in San Diego (Nov. 7-10). The Rebels will conclude their fall campaign in Tallahassee, Fla. at the ITA Sectionals (Nov. 7-10), looking for their last chance to advance to the 2024 NCAA Individual Championships.
